As if London didn’t have enough to keep you entertained this summer, sunshine-fuelled party – Eastern Electrics is back. After three years relishing in rural Hertfordshire, Eastern Electrics returns for its sixth edition in a brand-new location. Morden Park will play host to a collection of the biggest names in underground house and techno this August 5th.
Finding its roots in the 1980s-underground rave scene, EE is one of the few shows to successfully transition from dimly lit warehouses to a fully-fledged open-air festival. Since its inception, EE has had a number of homes over the years. But despite the changes, one thing always remains constant; a stellar line up of dance superstars from around the globe, and 2017 is sure to be no different.
This bill this year includes some monstrous heavyweights, with the main stage headlined by the illustrious Carl Cox, supported by Innervision’s boss Âme and Darrius Syrossian. Eastern Electrics is working with some of the most progressive and creative club brands on this festival, with stage takeovers from some major players in the UK dance music arena; Skreamism, Knee Deep in Sound, Defected, Viva Warriors and Rinse FM.
The inclusion of talent from the UK, US and Europe give the festival a truly eclectic vibe, where it is all too easy to become lost in the plethora of good music surrounding you. A mix of live and DJ sets throughout the day from techno to electro to hip hop to grime ensure there is something to tickle and titillate everyone’s ears all day.
If the effortless tech house sounds of Hot Since 82 and Denis Sulta are what you crave, head over to The Switchyard for Knee Deep in Sound. Known as much for his progressive house and techno blend as well as his impeccable curation of Knee Deep In Sound, the Leeds DJ has chosen some special acts for a special day. Make sure you catch a rare live amalgamation of electro, jazz and latin from jazz prodigy and world class pianist – Guti.
Steve Lawler’s Viva Warriors takeover The Big Top joined by Art Department and others for an acid house orgy. The Bigger Top welcomes early dubstep pioneer Skream alongside a personal favourite – Butch. For the house heads Sam Divine will be bringing you the dance tunes all day at the club tent, hosted by none other than Defected. Joining her is Sandy Rivera and Sonny Fodera prepared to lead you marching into a world of euphoria.
For a break from the anodic assaults, the Rinse FM arena is where you want to be. With a hugely inclusive curation, it promises sounds across the spectrum from jungle to RnB. Headlined by the one and only My Nu Leng and supported by grime king Sir Spyro and UKG stalwarts, Heartless Crew, you can expect nothing less than a bonkers blow out from Rinse FM.
With such a great line up and a brand new location this years event looks set to surpass everything that’s come before it. Don’t be the one to miss out!
